Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Melowy is not live yet. Some details in these terms may still change before it goes live. Parts marked to confirm are not final yet.

The short version

  • Apple's standard licence for apps applies. These terms add our own rules.
  • There is one paid level. Every option unlocks all of Melowy.
  • Yearly costs €59.99 a year, starts with 7 days free and renews every year until you cancel.
  • Monthly costs €14.99 a month, has no free trial and renews every month until you cancel.
  • One presentation costs €9.99 once, gives 14 days of full access and never renews.
  • Your presentation is yours. Melowy does not write it for you.
  • Melowy has no account. What you make in the app stays on your iPhone.
  • Melowy is a practice tool, not medical advice.

1. Who we are

Melowy is made and published by Sam Knaepen, trading as KNAEPEN, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in Belgium.

  • Enterprise and VAT number: BE1023299322
  • Address: Pedestraat 73b, 1602 Vlezenbeek, Belgium
  • Email: hello@melowy.app

2. These terms and Apple's licence

The Melowy app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms add the rules that are specific to Melowy, such as pricing, fair use and what the app is for. If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA applies, unless the law where you live gives you more rights.

By downloading or using Melowy, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

3. Who can use Melowy

You must be at least 16 years old to use Melowy. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian before you buy anything in the app.

4. What Melowy is, and what it is not

  • Melowy helps you prepare a presentation, pitch, speech or job interview: it puts your own sentences in a proven order, and gives automated feedback on recordings you make of yourself.
  • Feedback is generated automatically by software, including AI. Scores, transcripts and tips can be wrong or incomplete, for example when the audio is noisy. Use your own judgement.
  • Melowy does not write your presentation. You stay responsible for what you say and for following the rules of your school, university or employer.
  • Melowy is not therapy, medical advice or treatment for anxiety. If your nerves stop you from doing everyday things, please talk to your doctor.
  • We cannot promise a result for your presentation, exam, interview or pitch.
  • Some new features may be marked "beta". They can be less polished and may change or disappear. They never cost extra.

5. Free use

You can use part of Melowy for free: putting your text in order and filming one opening with feedback. What is free may change over time.

6. One presentation

  • Price: €9.99, paid once.
  • You get full access for 14 days, starting when you buy it.
  • One presentation does not renew. You are never charged again for it. There is nothing to cancel.
  • When the 14 days end, the app goes back to the free version. Your texts and recordings on your phone are not deleted.
  • You can buy One presentation again later, for example for your next pitch.

7. Yearly and Monthly subscriptions

  • Yearly: €59.99 a year. Monthly: €14.99 a month. Both unlock all of Melowy.
  • Yearly starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Apple allows one free trial per Apple ID. On day 5 we remind you that the trial is ending.
  • If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, Apple charges you €59.99 for the first year on day 7.
  • Monthly has no free trial. The first month is charged when you subscribe.
  • Both subscriptions renew automatically, every year or every month, until you cancel. Apple charges your Apple ID within 24 hours before the end of each period.
  • We may offer discounts, for example through Apple offer codes. The offer shows its price and how long it lasts before you accept it. After the offer ends, the normal price applies.
  • For the yearly free trial, the app reminds you on day 5, two days before the first charge. Apple also emails you before a subscription renews.
  • Cancel any time in the Settings app on your iPhone: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Melowy. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Creator codes

Some creators who talk about Melowy have a code. Entering a code tells us who sent you, so we can pay that creator. It does not change your price or your rights, unless the code clearly offers a discount. Creators who promote Melowy are paid by us, and must say so in their posts. We may end a code at any time.

8. Payments, refunds and price changes

All payments go through Apple, using your Apple ID. Prices are in euro and include VAT. Apple handles refunds: ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. In the EU, you can ask Apple to cancel a purchase within 14 days of receiving the receipt.

Because Melowy is digital content that starts right away, the law lets a seller end the 14-day right of withdrawal once you start using what you bought, if you agreed to that. Apple sells Melowy to you and handles this. Apple's own rules give EU customers 14 days to cancel without giving a reason, and we do not ask you to give that up.

If we change the price of Yearly or Monthly, we tell you before it takes effect, and Apple asks for your agreement when the law or Apple's rules require it. A price change never affects a period you already paid for.

Restore purchases: in the app, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases.

9. Fair use

Cloud analysis of your recordings and texts costs us money for every minute. To keep Melowy affordable for everyone, there are limits on cloud analysis:

  • Yearly, Monthly and One presentation: 40 analysed minutes and 10 questions a day.
  • The 7-day free trial of Yearly: 15 analysed minutes and 10 structure checks a day.
  • The free version: a small amount for the whole life of the app on your phone, about 5 analysed minutes and 2 structure checks. Reinstalling the app does not reset it.

If you reach a daily limit, recording, replay and the features that run on your phone keep working, and your report waits until the next day. We may change these numbers to keep Melowy fair and affordable. If we lower them for paid options, we tell you in the app first.

10. Changes to Melowy

We keep improving Melowy, so features may change. We only change what you paid for when there is a good reason, such as new features, a provider that stops, security, or a legal requirement. It never costs you extra. If a change makes Melowy clearly worse for you, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before. You can then end your subscription within 30 days of the change, and we refund the part you paid for but can no longer use as before.

11. Your content

Your texts, recordings and transcripts belong to you. You give us permission to process them only as needed to run Melowy for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership and we do not publish your content.

Your feedback reports, scores and the structured version of your text are yours to use as you like, for example in your presentation or to share with a teacher. Your school, university or employer may have its own rules about AI-assisted work; follow them. We keep the rights in the app itself (see "Our content").

Melowy has no account. Your texts, transcripts, recordings and feedback are stored only on your iPhone, not on our server. If you lose your phone, reset it or delete the app, we cannot get them back. Depending on your iPhone settings, some of it may be in your iPhone or iCloud backup, but we cannot promise that. Your purchase is linked to your Apple ID, not to your phone: use Restore purchases on a new device.

12. Our content

Melowy, the Melowy name and logo, Leon the chameleon, the app's design, texts, topics, exercises and the way Melowy structures a presentation belong to KNAEPEN or its licensors. You may use them only inside the app, for your own practice. You may show the app, and Leon on your screen, in your own videos or posts about Melowy. Please do not use the Melowy name, logo or Leon in a way that suggests your account, product or video is made or approved by us, unless we agreed to that in writing.

13. Fair behaviour

Please do not:

  • record other people without their permission;
  • use Melowy for anything illegal, or upload content that breaks someone else's rights;
  • try to get around the fair-use limits, copy, reverse engineer or overload the service;
  • scrape or copy content from Melowy, including to train AI models.

If you break these rules, we may limit or stop your access. Where it is reasonable, we warn you first and give you time to fix it. If we stop your access without a good reason, you can ask Apple for a refund for the time you could not use, and we will support that request.

14. Ideas you send us

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Melowy, without paying you or naming you. You do not have to send us anything.

15. Our liability

We work hard to make Melowy useful and reliable, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors.

Under EU and Belgian law, Melowy must work as described. If it does not, and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract and get your money back for the period concerned.

We are not liable for losses that we could not reasonably foresee when you started using Melowy, or for the outcome of your presentation, exam, interview or pitch, which depends on you. This does not limit our liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or for Melowy not working as described.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

16. Stopping

You can stop using Melowy at any time: cancel any subscription in your Apple settings and delete the app. Deleting the app removes the data on your phone. To delete the data on our server too, use Delete all my data in the app first, or email us.

If we ever close Melowy, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before, and we stop all renewals. If you paid for a period that runs past the closing date, we refund the unused part. Send us your Apple receipt and we pay it back to you directly. Until the closing date you can still delete your data or ask us for a copy.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. For changes that matter to you, we show a notice in the app at least 30 days before they apply. A change never applies to a period you already paid for. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies. If the change makes Melowy clearly worse for you, we refund the unused part of your paid period. Small changes, such as typos or clearer wording, may apply right away.

18. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws of your own country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Before going to court, please email us first: most things can be solved quickly.

If we cannot solve it together, you can contact the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst / Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur), North Gate II, Koning Albert II-laan 8 bus 1, 1000 Brussels, consumentenombudsdienst.be. It is free for consumers.

19. Other legal points

  • Melowy uses other companies to work, such as Apple for payments and providers for speech-to-text and AI feedback (they are listed in our Privacy Policy). Apple's own terms apply to your purchases. We remain responsible to you for Melowy as the law requires, also when we use these providers.
  • If one part of these terms is not valid, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a rule straight away, we can still enforce it later. The sections on our content, your content, fair behaviour and liability keep applying after you stop using Melowy.
  • We are not responsible for delays or outages caused by things outside our control, like a failure at Apple or one of our providers.
  • We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Melowy. Your rights as a consumer stay the same.
  • These terms, the Privacy Policy and Apple's Standard EULA are the full agreement between you and us about Melowy. This does not limit what we told you in the App Store listing or in the app.
  • These terms exist in English, Dutch and French. All versions have the same value. If they differ, the version in your language applies.

20. Contact

Because Melowy has no account, we give you important notices (changes to these terms, prices or features, or a closure) inside the app. You can reach us at hello@melowy.app.
